What is the Moontime Collection?

We are reclaiming our cycles.

The Moontime Collection was born from a longing to honour our menstrual phase, instead of hiding it away. Each adornment is a handmade garnet necklace or bracelet, made to be worn during your bleed — a companion for turning inward, and a reminder that this time has something to say when we make space to listen.

For so long, we were made to believe that menstruation was something shameful — to hide, to silence, to push through. I don't believe that, and I don't think you should have to either.

Wearing your Moontime adornment is a silent revolution. It's how we come back to our bodies and our cyclical nature — standing in the intelligence of our cycles rather than apologising for them. Not something to manage or get through, but something to trust, to feel, and to be proud of.

Each adornment is a small act of remembering — a way to slow down, turn inward, and come home to yourself.

Each one is handmade with garnet beads, all slightly different in shape, colour, and texture. No two are the same.

Each one is unique, just like your cycle.

Why garnet?

Garnet has long been associated with the body, blood, warmth, vitality, and life force. Its deep red naturally mirrors menstrual blood — the blood that holds the cycles of life.

Red garnet has been tied to the root chakra and to feminine vitality, believed to support hormonal balance and to steady us through the tender days of the cycle. It's sometimes called a spiritual battery: thought to gently restore energy and life force when we feel depleted, and to quiet a racing mind.

In the Moontime Collection, garnet is a grounding presence — a reminder to stay close to the body, to feel held, and to soften inward during the days when we are invited to rest.

Handmade, one of a kind

Every Moontime adornment is unique, marked with its own number — #1, #2, and so on. I make them in different corners of Aotearoa New Zealand, across different days and seasons. I believe each necklace already has its person — it's simply a matter of the two of you finding each other.

The ritual

A simple but potent ritual

Wearing your Moontime necklace or bracelet during your bleed is a simple but potent way to honour your inner rhythms. It's an invitation, and a reminder, to slow down, turn inward, and give yourself space to listen — to your body, your intuition, and your inner world.

It can be personal, just for you. Or a way of communicating with those around you — inviting care, understanding, and conversation.

My hope is that one day every woman honours this time in her own way — and that, together, we create a movement: a Moontime piece or token as a sign of recognition.

·

Cleanse & bless

How to care for, cleanse, and bless your necklace before you begin.

·

Opening & closing

A simple ritual for the start of your bleed, and one to close your inner winter.

·

The releases

Moving with the seasons

The Moontime drops follow the rhythm of the Wheel of the Year — new adornments created in small numbers: chokers and bracelets. Each drop is made with the beads I'm working with at the time; if an adornment calls to you, trust that pull, as I may not be able to source the same beads again.

Questions & care

What sizes are available?

These are choker-style necklaces, customisable up to 44 cm, and bracelets from 16–20 cm. All lengths are measured including the clasp. You'll share your preferred length when you claim your piece so it sits comfortably on your body. If you'd like something longer than 44 cm, just reach out and we'll work it out together.

Are the adornments really all different?

Yes. Each necklace is handmade with garnet beads that vary in shape, colour, and texture, so no two are ever the same. Each carries its own number and the date and place it was made.

How do I care for my necklace?

Remove it before showering, swimming, or sleeping, and store it in the beautiful red pouch it arrives in.

Do I have to wear it only during my bleed?

Not at all. It's made to be worn during menstruation as a ritual, but you might also wear it whenever you feel yourself entering your inner winter — or simply whenever you want to stay close to your cycle.

When is the next drop?

Moontime drops follow the Wheel of the Year in the Southern Hemisphere — a new release roughly every six weeks. Join the Beltane waitlist to hear when the next one opens.

Where do you ship & how much?

Pieces are sent from Aotearoa New Zealand. Shipping (in NZD): within New Zealand $6.90 (rural addresses may cost a little more — I’ll confirm by email), to Australia $18.80, and anywhere else in the world $28, tracked. All prices are in NZD, plus shipping.

How do I pay?

For now, pieces are paid by bank transfer (NZD), with details shared when you claim your piece. For international orders, I'll send a Wise payment link.

Sofía, the maker of the Moontime Collection, wearing a garnet necklace in warm sunlight
Meet the maker

Hi, I'm Sofía

I'm a menstrual cycle coach and fertility awareness educator — here to support women in reconnecting with their bodies, their cycles, and the Earth.

For years I wore a red necklace during my bleed: a small token, a way to honour my inner winter. I'd make sure everyone in my circle knew that I was on my bleed! I love talking about it and smashing the taboo around menstruation.

The Moontime Collection grew from my desire to share this ritual with others — a reminder that our cycles aren't something to hide, but something to trust, to feel, and to be proud of.

The next release comes with the season.
